Grind it out. Plant something new.

A stump is a 10-year reminder of a tree you already lost. We grind below grade, haul the chips, and hand you back usable ground.

Overview

What this is.

Stumps don't just look bad. They harbor termites, attract carpenter ants, host wood-rotting fungi that can move into nearby trees, and they make mowing miserable. Grinding solves all of it at once.

We grind 6–12 inches below grade — deep enough to plant grass, lay sod, or set a new tree in the same footprint. Larger stumps and root flares are no problem; we bring the right machine for the size.

What's included

Scope of work.

01

Below-grade grinding

6–12 inches deep — replant-ready, not just cosmetic.

02

Surface root grinding

Optional grinding of nuisance surface roots radiating from the stump.

03

Chip removal

Full haul-off, or leave the chips for mulch — your call.

04

Backfill & grade

Topsoil backfill and grade so the spot matches the surrounding lawn.

05

Sod or seed prep

Final prep ready for sod, seed, or a new tree planting.

06

Tight-access machines

Compact grinders for gated yards, courtyards and pool areas.

How we do it

A repeatable process, every time.

  1. 01

    Site check

Measure the stump, check for utilities and obstacles.

  2. 02

    Equipment match

Compact, standard or large grinder — sized to the job.

  3. 03

    Grind

Below grade, all surface roots, single visit.

  4. 04

    Restore

Haul chips or mulch, backfill, grade, sweep, done.

Why it matters

The cheapest thing about a tree removal is finishing the job.

A removal that leaves a stump is half a job. Grinding closes the loop — the yard goes back to being usable, the pests have nowhere to live, and you can plant what you want there next.
