What's the difference between trimming and pruning?+
We use them interchangeably in marketing, but in practice 'pruning' is the technical term for any cut made for the health, structure, or safety of the tree. 'Trimming' colloquially means cosmetic or clearance cuts. Either way — we make the cut for a reason and document why.
Do you remove healthy trees if a client requests it?+
We'll always tell you first whether a tree can be saved. If you still want it removed — for a renovation, a sightline, a pool — we'll do it. We just won't pretend it had to come down when it didn't.
Do you grind stumps after a removal?+
Yes — usually next-day. We grind 6–12 inches below grade so the spot is ready for sod, seed, or a new planting. Chips can be hauled off or left for mulch.
What is the Tree Rx program?+
Tree Rx is our maintenance contract — soil panels, fertilization, pest scouting and recurring visits on a multi-year plan. It's how we move from one-off jobs into long-term stewardship of the canopy.
Service area & response
Where do you operate?+
Statewide across Florida. For disaster relief and storm response we deploy nationally with pre-staged equipment.
Do you really answer the phone 24/7?+
Yes. The emergency line at 1-855-2-TREERX is live every day of the year — hurricane season, holidays, 3am, all of it.
How fast can you get a crew out for storm damage?+
It depends on the storm. Same-day for isolated incidents. During named storms we triage by hazard — tree-on-structure first, then access clearance, then routine cleanup. Priority-response contracts move to the front of the line.
Do you work with insurance?+
Yes. We provide photo logs, written reports and adjuster-ready documentation. We don't bill insurers directly — we invoice you and you submit — but we make the paperwork easy.
Estimates, pricing & insurance
Are estimates free?+
Walkthroughs and estimates are free for residential and commercial properties in our service area.
Are you licensed and insured?+
Fully — general liability and workers' compensation. COI available on request, and we're set up for vendor onboarding on commercial accounts.
Do you pull permits?+
Where required, yes. Many Florida municipalities regulate removal of protected species and large-diameter trees. We handle the permit application as part of the scope.
How is pricing structured?+
Single jobs are flat-priced by scope. Maintenance contracts are quoted by property after a walkthrough and a soil panel. No subscriptions, no surprise add-ons.
Soil & diagnostics
Why does soil testing matter for trees?+
Trees eat through their roots, and roots live in soil. If pH is off, or if a key micronutrient is missing, no amount of foliar feeding fixes it. A panel tells us what's actually limiting growth — so the prescription matches the problem.
How long does a soil panel take?+
About 7–10 business days from sample to interpreted report. We pull samples on the walkthrough and email the writeup when it lands.
Do I have to sign a long contract for soil work?+
No. You can do a one-off panel and a one-time treatment plan. Most clients move into a Tree Rx contract because it compounds — but it's not a prerequisite.
